Gegen Ende des 11.Jhts kamen Benediktiner Wandermönche aus Irland. 1100 Grundsteinlegung, 1120 Fertigstellung der ersten Kirche. Von 1150 bis 1185 erfolgte ein Neubau. Die irischen Mönche wurden im Volkmund Skotten genannt und die Kirche Schottenkirche genannt

À la fin du 11ème siècle, des moines itinérants arrivèrent d'Irlande. Pose de la première pierre de l'église en 1100, 1120 achévement de la première église.Un nouvel édifice est construit entre 1150 et 1185. Les moines irlandais étaient communément appelés Écossais et l'église fut dénommée église des Écossais

Towards the end of the 11th century, Benedivtine wandering monks came from Ireland. 1100 laying of the foundation stone, 1120 completion of the first church. A new building was built between 1150 and 1185. The Irish monks were popularly called  Scots and the church was called the Scottish church

Ab 1577 erlebte das Kloster einen Aufschwung. Es diente wieder der Seelsorge, als Herberge der schottischen Gemeinde und der durchreisenden Händler, der Rompilger sowie der Erziehung junger Schotten

Le monastère connut un essor à partir de 1577. Il fut à nouveau utilisé pour le soin pastoral, comme auberge pour la communauté écossaise et les marchands de passage, les pélerins de Rome et pour l'éducation des jeunes Écossais

From 1577 the monastery experienced an upswing. It was again used for pastoral care, as a hostel for the Scottish community and travelling traders, pilgrims to Rome and for the education of young Scots

1803 entging die Schottenabtei der Säkularisation. Erst um 1862 wurde das Kloster aufgelöst und ein Priesterseminar eingerichtet.

1874 wurde die Seminarkirche konsekriert

L'abbaye des Écossais échappa en 1803 à la sécularisation. Ce n'est que vers 1862 que le monastère fut dissous et qu'un séminaire fut crée. L'église du Séminaire fut consacrée en 1874

In 1803 the Scottish Abbey escaped secularization. It was not until around 1862 that the monastery was dissolved and a seminary was set up. The seminar church was consecrated in 1874
