L'église existait déjà en 1050 à l'arrivée des moines de la Chaise-Dieu. Elle fut d'abord dédiée à Saint Étienne puis a changé de vocable au 11ème siècle Die Kirche existierte bereits 1050, als die Mönche von La Chaise-Dieu ankamen. Sie wurde zuerst dem Hl. L'église, devenue trop petite, est agrandie à partir de 1177 et cette nouvelle aura deux fonctions: prieurale et paroissiale. L'église fut modifiée à plusiers reprises. Romane et gothique Die zu klein gewordene Kirche wurde ab 1177 vergrößert und diese neue hatte zwei Funktionen als Priorats- und Pfarrkirche. Die Kirche wurde mehrmals umgebaut.
