Ancienne abbatiale bénédictine Saint-Austremoine (dédiée au premier évêque de Clermont et évangélisateur de l'Auvergne à la fin du 3ème siècle) construite vers 1130

Une abbaye Saint-Austremoine est mentionnée en 927. La prospérité du petit monastère (20 à 30 moines) lui aurait permis de reconstruire son église abbatiale au 12ème siècle en utilisant une partie de l'ancienne (narthex actuel)

Eine Abtei St. Stremonius wird im Jahr 927 erwähnt. Der Wohlstand des kleinen Klosters (20 bis 30 Mönche) hätte es ihm ermöglicht seine Abteikirche im 12.Jht unter Verwendung eines Teils der alten Kirche (des heutigen Narthex) neu zu errichten

An abbey is mentioned in 927. The prosperity of the small monastery (20 to 30 monks) would have enabled it to rebuild its abbey church in the 12th century using part of the old one (the present narthex)
