Les étangs situés autour de Neuhof furent aménagés vers le 13ème siècle par les moines cisterciens de l'abbaye de Walkenried qui ne mangeaient pas de viande pour leur alimentation en poisson

Die Teiche rund um Neuhof wurden im 13.Jht von den Zisterziensermönchen des Klosters Walkenried angelegt, die kein Fleisch, sondern Fisch aßen

The ponds around Neuhof were created around the 13th century by the Cistercian monks of Walkenried Abbey, who did not eat meat but ate fish
