L'église fut consacrée en 1019 par les évêques de Chalon et de Mâcon. Consacrée à nouveau en 1120 par le pape Calixte II. L'abbaye ne dépendait que du Pape et du Roi de France

Die Kirche wurde im Jahr 1019 von den Bischöfen von Chalon und Mâcon geweiht. Sie wurde 1120 von Papst Calixtus II. erneut geweiht. Die Abtei war nur vom Papst und dem König von Frankreich abhängig

The church was consecrated in 1019 by the bishops of Chalon and Mâcon. It was consecrated again in 1120 by Pope Calixtus II. The abbey depended only on the Pope and the King of France

Le point de départ fut l'oratoire primitif élevé sur le tombeau du martyr Valérien, transformé ensuite en abbaye où s'installèrent en 875 les moines bénédictins de saint Philibert, chassé de Noirmoutier par les incursions des Normands

Ausgangspunkt war das auf dem Grab des Märtyrers Valerian errichtete primitive Oratorium, das später in eine Abtei umgewandelt wurde, in der sich 875 die Benediktinermönche von Saint-Philbert niederließen, die durch die Normanneneinfälle aus Noirmoutier vertrieben worden waren

The starting point was the primitive oratory built on the tomb of the martyr Valerian, later transformed into an abbey where the Benedictine monks of Saint-Philibert settled in 875, chassed of Noirmoutier by the Norman incursions
