L'actuelle église romane édifiée au 12ème siècle appartenait à un prieuré bénédictin, placé sous la dépendance de l'abbaye royale de Saint-Cyran-en-Brenne (Indre) située dans le diocèse de Bourges

Die heutige romanische Kirche aus dem 12.Jht gehörte einem benediktinischen Priorat, das der königlichen Abtei von Saint-Cyran-en-Brenne (Indre) in der Diözese Bourges unterstellt war

The current Romanesque church built in the 12th century belonged to a Benedictine priory, placed under the dependance of the royal abbey of Saint-Cyran-en -Brenne (Indre) located in the diocese of Bourges

Mur sud au bord du ravin. L'église fut consacrée en 1170. Le nom Châteloy vient de castellum occuli (château sur l'Oeil)

Südwand am Rand der Schlucht. Die Kirche wurde 1170 geweiht. De Name Châteloy kommt von castellum occuli (Burg über das Auge)
